You
came.
I wondered if anyone would.
It calls to me each day, and each day I listen. Today, it calls to you, too.
Bring your camera.
The things here found a way up on their own. I used to worry
about that—creations leaving the city, drifting toward the light.
But I don't anymore. Up here, people like you can find them.
The city supported its people, connected them with one another. They thrived
together with purpose. Most of the buildings went dark after the Flood, of course;
all but two. It's because of how they were made, and why.
I could've left when it happened. Most would have. But leaving
felt like saying the people all this was built for didn't matter.
But people are the heart of everything.
Perhaps you and I have that in common...
We're back. Same dock, same water. Something is different, though.
Maybe it's the light. Maybe it's you.
You stayed until the end; that makes you a lot like them.
I've kept you long enough. Go on, now. Cast your thoughts into the ocean before you head out.
